The First Tee of the Columbia Basin is a junior development program that teaches children the life skills and core values that will help them be successful when they become older. The second best part about the program is they get to learn the game of golf! The First lives by the 9 core Values. RESPECT, COURTESY, RESPONSIBILITY, INTEGRITY, JUDGMENT, SPORTSMANSHIP, HONESTY, CONFIDENCE AND PERSEVERANCE!  We teach the children these core vales in a seamless manner using the game of golf. The game of golf is a great teaching tool because the integrity of the game.  One is its own umpire and is responsible for his or hers actions. After we are through with the class, we then relate the golf skill or life skill back to a real life situation.

The First Tee of the Columbia Basin is a non-profit organization that heavily relys on outside funding allowing us to keep annual fees low. We also rely on volunteers to get involved with the classes. You can make a difference in some ones life by volunteering just a couple of hours during a session. Become a volunteer today!

Energy- It is important to understand and make healthy choices about when to eat, how much to eat, and the types of food and drinks to provide the body with the most useful Energy!

Play- A variety of energizing Play  can help the body stay strong, lean, and fit, and be fun in the Process!

Safety- Physical Safety includes playing in a safe environment and by the rules, protecting the body with proper equipment, warm-up and cool-down and wearing sun protection.

Vision-  In order to make the most of one's unique gifts-talents, characteristics and abilities- an individuals needs to learn from the past, value the present, create their vision and future to ultimately "leave a footprint."

Mind- The mind is a powerful tool for health.

Family- When family members participate in activities together, share meals together and establish roles and responsibilities- they are most likely to be successful in achieving their health related goals.

Friends-  Maintaining healthy relationships including surrounding ones self with friends and supportive people, while effectively handling challenging situations, including bullying and navigating the digital age with social media.

School-  Success in School- learning and building relationships and contributing to the school environment- leads to success in other areas of life.

Community- Like the health of one's body, it is important to also explore the health of one's community and discover how one can give back and care for its environment and safety.

The First Tee of the Columbia Basin has officially moved to Columbia Park Golf Course!

The First Tee of the Columbia Basin has developed with Course Co. Inc a partnership that will benefit both parties. First Tee programs will be held at Columbia Park. Running programs at Columbia Park will allow more on course instruction and a safe place for First Tee participants to enjoy the game of golf.
